To access UICapture, please navigate to Getting Started with UICapture ICON and UICapture are fully integrated. This allows faculty and students immediate and simple access to lecture capture and other multimedia tools. UICapture (powered by Panopto) is the lecture capture system used here at the University of Iowa. It can be used to record, upload, manage, and share lecture recordings as well as produced audio/video files made for both in and out of the classroom. You can use UICapture for a long list of tasks including storing and sharing your recorded Zoom meetings, hosting an informative podcast, student video assignments, and much more. Let's Talk, Hawks! is a drop-in consultation service that provides students with an opportunity to have an informal, confidential, anonymous conversation with a UCS therapist.Students can share mental health concerns, work on problem solving, learn about useful campus and community resources, or ask questions about counseling and UCS. This is not a counseling or crisis service.Ĭonsultations are first come, first served brief (up to 15 minutes) and anonymous.Soothe Your Anxiety – Tuesdays from 10:30-11:00am CDT.Soothe Your Anxiety is for UI students who are looking to better understand anxiety and develop some tools to cope with the symptoms they may experience.Each workshop will feature information about anxiety and easy to learn coping skills. Whether you have experienced anxiety for a long time or are experiencing it for the first time in response to Covid-19, this workshop can help. The workshop meets twice each week and features different topics, designed to give students a quick option to learn anxiety management skills – attend them all or pick and choose.

  • Kind Mind: COVID-19 Series - – Wednesdays 1:00-2:00pm CDT.
  • Brittany Greenbaum for weekly training in developing a kind mind to increase psychological wellness.
  • Topics to be explored include resilience, compassion, and mindfulness with a focus on how they can help us improve our relationships and cope with stress, anxiety, and depression.
  • The first 20 minutes of the workshop will include an overview of Kind Mind and the remaining time will be spent exploring new topics and practicing skills.
  • It is recommended new attendees plan to attend the workshop at 1pm and those who have previously attended are welcome to join at 1pm if they want to review, or 1:20pm if they only want new content.
  • Soothe Your Anxiety – Wednesdays 3:00-3:30pm CDT.
  • Mindfulness Matters - Weekly 1:30-2:30pm CDT.
  • Mindfulness is purposefully paying attention, non-judgmentally to the present moment.
  • The practice of mindfulness can lead to an increased sense of balance, stress management and overall well-being in your life.

    This group is designed to provide a safe and supportive space for students who are wanting to make or are considering changes in alcohol or other drug use.The group emphasizes success in academics, relationships, mental and physical health, and other meaningful goals through abstaining or reducing alcohol and other drug use. The group operates from a “no pressure” approach by encouraging the discussion of shared experiences and achieving success in college by removing the barriers created by substance use.Living Through Loss - Weekly 3:30-4:30 CDT.
