I apologize that you do not feel that it was handled as best it could be. After speaking with our Aquatics Administration Manager, who handled this issue during you stay, I was under the assumption that this issue was resolved that day.

I am disappointed to read this review of your recent trip. I would probably go there again (and it would be definitely if they sort out the special needs help). Right moaning over, I don't intend to detract from what was definitely a positive week at the Lodge.

If anyone at Wolf Lodge reads this, I would value a response. so guards wouldn't keep asking me to take it out!). If they want to stop guests bringing in their own inflatables, then I think they should have a number of alternate buoyancy aids which they can provide (from storage) to guests which special needs and which are clearly marked as Wolf Lodge Property (i.e. Where their policy fails is it does not take account of the very small number of potential guests who have special needs. I understand and agree with the Wolf Lodge policy on customers using their own inflatables.

The problem is, I still got asked by lifeguards at least 3 times per day (and we stayed a full week) and had to explain each time. After much discussion, he went away and came back and said they would make an exception. To be fair, he was just enforcing policy. I politely explained that I knew what was best for my child and offered to demonstrate the two aids on her to him so he could see also. I was told a ring was a greater risk to my child than the vest. However we were soon approached by a manager who told us it would not be possible to use the ring. I initially explained this to the guard at the entrance to the park who understood and let us in, telling us we would just need to explain to the various guards on duty. The vests they provide do not work for children like my daughter who simply get turned onto their face and therefore need to be held up in order to float. Sadly, at Wolf Lodge they have a strict policy about guests not using their own inflatables and instead they are supposed to use the life vests provided. We always use a ring as it is the best buoyancy aid for her. It is the only time she gets to move around freely (she cannot walk and has weak muscles as part of her condition). The lady 'reading/acting' the story either didn't use a mic or didn't turn it up sufficiently so it was a real disappointment to me that my daughter got nothing out of one of the selling points of the Lodge.

Don't get me wrong, I think the magi-quest is a big plus point but if they can't turn it down a little for the story at 8pm (which I was told they can't), they should think about their location for the pyjama party. While the story is being read (and the reader also used non verbal language) you can still hear the magi-quest game noise from upstairs and it is very loud. Therefore she relies heavily on her sense of hearing. One of my children is disabled (4 year old) which includes a visual impairment. They do a Pyjama story at 8pm each night. I saw a previous post suggesting the same. They don't seem to cater for disabled guests that well. The next two gripes centre around their care for guests with special needs. Cooked to order Omelettes at breakfast were good. Food was overpriced (minor gripe) and varying in terms of quality - I had one outstanding meal (pork chops and mash) while my wife ate what could only be described as the worst Lasagna we have ever tasted. The staff, for the most part, were really friendly Now (sadly) for the negatives (one of which I think is a problem for them which needs resolving). Magiquest game was really appreciated by my daughter 4. Excellent waterpark (though it seemed colder than I thought it would be - the water wasn't that warm) 3. I do though, have a major gripe which I will come to. Firstly, want to say upfront that we had a good time at Wolf Lodge in Traverse.
